Wow, I just had a positive conversation with the school system :) Nisha will go for her evaluation next Tuesday (3 hours. . . yeah right). Two weeks later, a case conference will be held to discuss the results. Since in my previous life as a special education teacher I was in charge of case conference meetings, I am pretty sure things will go smoothly. I know my rights, the services available, and all about my kiddo. She is currently being evaluated for a hearing impairment, physical therapy, speech therapy, a developmental delay and a cognitive disability- the latter of which she does not have. We will prayerfully consider any services offered by the school system, but hope to capitalize on free help.

Good luck. I do remember it not being that bad. We would love to have the boys come over and play while she is getting tested.
Good luck! I hope she does well with a long time period of evaluation. Anju had that 8 hour appt. and they evaluated her cognitive/developmental abilities at about the 6th hour and decided she was extremely behind---when I knew that was not the case. She was evaluated later well-rested and as you remember, was on the borderline between slightly delayed and "normal". I don't need to remind a strong lady like you, but remember to keep being Nisha's advocate and speak up if something doesn't sound right.
Free help is always a welcome thing!
